Founded in 2010, the Maidenhead Community Choir is a choir for all singers, old and young, experienced and novices, and from all musical backgrounds to come together on Tuesday nights for an hour of music and fun. There are no auditions, no need to read music and the emphasis is on singing for the sheer joy of it.

The repertoire stretches from gospel, swing, barbershop, folk, and musical theatre to pop and rock. Although this is a light-hearted choral group there is also work on vocal technique, musicianship and performance skills. A professional pianist skillfully accompanies the singers.

After rehearsing at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts for nine years, the choir is now working via Zoom during the coronavirus crisis as a virtual choir.

As well as performing at Cliveden and Theatre Royal Windsor, we have shared concerts with the renowned London Adventist Chorale under Ken Burton, Reading Christ Church Choir, and Reading Community Gospel Choir.

In October 2012, the choir achieved a 'Distinction' and won the Biggs Cup for best mixed voice choir at a choral competition.

Our summer concert in 2013 was shared with the Glorious Life Chorus at Taplow Court under the direction of Howard Jones. In October the same year we performed with famous singer-songwriter Charlie Dore.

The choir was very honored to be invited to perform at Windsor Castle for their Christmas festivities in 2016 and 2017 as the very first Community Choir to sing in St. George's Hall.

In September 2019 we shared the stage with Tina May and Laurie Holloway. Later that year we were invited to take part in a 'Songs of Praise ' BBC recording.

We have also hosted distinguished artists to deliver workshops. We had Ken Burton, Karen Gibson, and Steve V King from The Drifters to work with the choir.
